The Fulton School
During these last couple of weeks I have noticed Im both crazy busy as well as having more time to myself than usual. Thanks to my experience with three jobs, I took upon the front desk with ease; greeting customers as well as walk-ins, conversing with the artists as well as creating a clean and safe environment to the best of my ability. It dawned on me just how much Chelsea (our store owner) felt comfortable with the amount of tasks she’s given me- including my first day nonetheless. Due to my health, getting up later and having somewhat shorter days seem to be whats working for me at the current moment; though I still get an incredible amount done.
Chelsea surprised me on Thursday with paying for a CPR and BBP certification course- ones I proudly aced. Those courses were incredibly helpful and already puts me one step ahead than the majority of future tattoo artists and apprentices; as it delt with burns, cuts, blood borne pathogens, sterile and contaminated items, choking, CPR, how to deal with shock patients, seizures and so on. Using a device that cuts wounds into willing clients comes with a numerous amount of risks, the client could go into shock, blood sugar drops, suddenly start choking, faint as well as any blood contaminating someones face or other body parts. I’m very grateful Chelsea took time out of her own busy schedule to pay for these courses.
The rest of the week was rather uneventful, I did venture to their south city location which I loved and realized I’m much more comfortable with the city than I initially realized.

That’s really cool that you are trusted to do a lot of stuff! I would agree that it feels like I have less time and more time at the same time. Wow, how many more times can I say the word time?! On one hand, even though I am working eight hours, the same amount that I was at school for, I notice the time goes quicker because I am enjoying everything, whereas at school it would be like I would have two classes I really liked, then one I didn’t, then one I did, and then one I didn’t. I also feel like I am kept pretty busy throughout the whole day and when there isn’t anything else for me to do, I just get to take a break, while at school teachers were always giving you busy work if you finished the other work. Even though I am getting home at around the same time I did in school, some days later, it feels like I have more time, or maybe just more energy to do stuff I want to do like hangout with friends, write, or workout. I assume you haven’t gotten to do any actual tattooing, yet, but I was wondering if they let you watch the actual artists or practice? Also, what do you practice on to mimick skin? Hope all is well and that you and your health issues are ok!
