Makerspace at the Fulton School
First things first, I started by making the dimensions of the holder on paper. After that, I drew the sketch of the dimensions out on cardboard. Next, I put the dimensions into the computer app CorelDraw and then put it on the flash drive. I moved to the lazer and the computer that controls the lazer, plugged in the flash drive and found scraps of wood. The lazer cut out the name Bella in cursive and tiny paw prints walking on the top of the holder. After it was cut, I used wood glue to put the pieces together. It was supposed to be done after 24 hours, but we waited 30 minutes before we could touch it. I then started to paint a clear coat on it so the water would not rot the wood if it got wet. I applied 3 coats of it and on the 3rd coat, the directions said that after you are done applying the last coat, you wait for a full 24 hours before use. Since I started building it on Monday and glued and painted on Tuesday, I was able to do it by the end of the school day on Wednesday.
